白濁・澱・油滴について
MAWSIMのスピリッツは、白濁・澱・油滴を生じることがしばしばあります。氷やソーダなどの割り材を入れた場合は、ほとんど確実に白濁します。この現象は、ボタニカル由来の香り成分が、揮発性オイルであることに起因します。スピリッツの香りと風味を決定しているこれらの精油が、アルコールに溶け切らないほどふんだんに抽出された時、白濁などの現象が起きます。冷却濾過することでこれを抑制できますが、それとともに風味も損なうため、MAWSIMでは無濾過製法にこだわっています。

Made with organic Cambodian cacao provided by "choco rico," a bean-to-bar chocolatier. To maximize the savory bitter flavor of roasted cacao and the rich sweetness of chocolate, we intentionally use high-proof spirits instead of liqueurs or gin.

About Cloudiness, Sediment, and Oil Droplets
MAWSIM spirits often experience cloudiness, sediment, and oil droplets. When mixed with ice or soda, cloudiness is almost certain to occur. This phenomenon is due to the aroma components derived from botanicals being volatile oils. When these essential oils, which determine the aroma and flavor of the spirits, are extracted so abundantly that they cannot fully dissolve in the alcohol, phenomena such as cloudiness occur. While chill filtration can suppress this, it also impairs the flavor, which is why MAWSIM insists on an unfiltered production method.
